The Hospital Project
The HOSPITAL PROJECT was created to deliver dance right to you in the hospital. You can dance from your hospital bed or any space in the hospital that is appropriate. Connected to an IV pole? No problem. Some days you might feel like dancing with your whole body, other days just your hands or feet. We tailor the class to you. We find that the camaraderie of the group and upbeat music works wonders to help you get your groove on. We choreograph dances during class time too. You’ll be amazed at the dances you can make! We do ask that you have an adult present in the room with you. (It’s fun when they join in too!) When you transition out of the hospital, not to worry, you can simply join us from home. We design our program for maximum fun!
We keep our Square Studio classes small, about 12-15 students per class, so that we can see dancers, help them with their technique and so they can connect with each other to make new friends. We generally have two age groups for participants: Class 1 (6-11 years old) and Class 2 (12-18 year old). In each 45 minute class we’ll introduce ourselves, check in with each other and then get dancing! We have many dance styles to draw from including ballet, jazz and contemporary to name a few. Our classes consist of warming up the body, working on technique, creating new dances and then a cool down. These are single, drop-in classes. So join us when you like! We cannot wait to meet you!
“Knowing that it has never been done before makes me want to fight even harder.”
